After 7 months of living here, we have decided that we really should start seeing more of what Tenerife has to offer. We picked Wednesdays because it's that great middle of the week day that always seems so long, I don't have class on Wednesdays, and because it's not the weekend. So, weather permitting, we will try our best to get out and wander at least once a week...
Today we headed to the north side of the island. Jaime was in search of a particular "vista" he had seen in a photograph and it was a drive over the mountain that he hadn't taken in over 20 years. We left a little after noon, just in time for the boys nap.
Views of the drive over the mountain:
conejo (rabbit), chocos (cuttlefish), and patatas (potatoes). Here is a picture of our table, the location of our restaurant, and our delicious food, as well as a short video from the terrace. If you look towards the bottom of the video or the second picture, you will see the stairs leading from the restaurant to the beach.
After lunch, we took the single lane dirt road and continued on to El Draguillo which is really just a small cluster of homes in the middle of nowhere. From there, we took the boys on a small hike to get a little closer to the big "rock" in the ocean. Can you see our shadows in the bottom picture?
