Let's Play...

Well, our new (temporary) apartment is still coming along slowly but surely. All the floors here are very hard (tiles, no carpet) and nothing is really "baby proofed," so we had to figure out somewhere the kids could be kids. We finally finished a safe indoor play area in the front entry and call it the "corral." The boys seem to like it most of the time.....

Another project we mostly finished today was the patio. We have a really great large patio that has a hard and rough surface. I wanted to put down those wonderful foam squares you can find so easily in the states, but we could not locate them here. So, we got a little creative and figured out a different solution. It's not as soft as the foam, but it's a lot easier on the knees for crawling and on the head when falling.

Not much else today. We ventured into the city (Santa Cruz) to get a few parts so that Jaime can put our big computer back together again (we have been using the laptop since we arrived). We also went to the giant French owned grocery store Carrefour (which is a bit like a Super WalMart) and did as much shopping as we could before the boys (mostly Connor) had a meltdown. Terrible little nappers the boys were today.

We are really looking forward to getting more settled in so that we can enjoy things a bit. Here are some pictures from today:

Notice the not so baby friendly surface...

Alex watching Mommy and Daddy work.
Maybe he was hungry???

What fun. The boys (including Jaime, of course) are so cute! They look like they're enjoying their new home very much. Homemade baby food sure does smell (and taste!) better. You go, girl! You're doing a great job of staying in touch. I wish I'd have had this when the girlfriends were babies. You'll have so much to look back on.
