We went to a birthday party yesterday for our nephew, Samuel, who turns 4 on February 3rd. His parents, Arturo and Reyes, threw a great party, with lots of snacks and activities for the kids and great food and drinks for the grown-ups.
While I'm sure everyone had a nice time, I think our boys must have thought they were in heaven. They got to play with lots of "new" toys, plenty of other kids, and then there was the snack table.....Oh, the snack table!! It was at just the right height for little hands to grab whatever they wanted whenever they wanted it...and that's exactly what the boys did...for the 4 hours we were there. There were cookies, and chocolates, chips and cheese puffs, sandwiches and puffy "worms," there was popcorn, candy and Lela's bizchoco, Oh my!!! Seriously, if they weren't playing, they were stuffing their faces.
Jaime and I did manage to get a little bit of "real" food into them between everything else... that is, until it was time for cake. The boys were "hitting up" other children for bites of their cake and then "stealing" bites from plates that had been left unattended. Oh, my sweet little boys.....
Like all good things, the night finally came to an end...we had to pry the food from their hands and drag Alex and Connor back home to be put into their PJ's so they could drift off to dreamland an hour past their bedtime. And drift off they did... they crashed out, and we pretty much didn't hear from them again until morning. The most amazing thing: no tummy ache!!!
