What we've been doing...

Mostly...hanging out around the house. We still have the very remnants of the daycare virus lingering, but are hoping to have seen the last of it for awhile. The boys caught a new stomach virus last week along with many of the other children, but that has only meant lots of diapers, loads of laundry, and plenty of butt cream. Hopefully that will work it's way out of the house in a couple more days as well.

We did take the boys to the beach one afternoon last week. We are trying to get them used to the ocean again and being in and near the water. It's also nice to get them out of the house to let them spend some of their boundless energy. So far our visits begin with them being a little apprehensive, but end with them roaming around on their own a bit and even testing the waters. We are hoping to have them enrolled in swimming lessons by next month.

I also made some chocolate chip cookies with the wonderful bag of Hershey's chips my friend sent to me from the States. I baked a small batch and then froze the rest in cookie sized portions for fresh baked treats throughout the summer. So, the boys got too have their very first taste of this American yumminess. They both figured out very quickly that the dark spots were the good bits. Alex picked at the chocolate and tried to bite the chips out of the cookie. Connor thought about how to get them out, but, ultimately, decided it was just as effective to eat the whole thing. At first I wasn't sure if they even liked them, but, in the end, they left nothing but crumbs...
