We had our 12-month check up today with our new pediatrician. We are actually in the system now and our "assigned" doctor and nurse seem very knowledgeable and kind. They don't speak any English though, so Jaime was our most excellent translator.
The boys are doing great. The nurse took a short medical history and copied our records from the States and then the doctor checked all the usual things a Pediatrician checks at a well visit. The vaccines the boys would have gotten at their 12 month in Dallas they do here at the 15 month check-up. So, no shots today which no one seemed to mind at all.
Connor is in the 90th+ percentile in the US and he is similar here, but his height to weight ratio is right on target. He weighs 12.290 kilos (27.09 lbs) and is 79 cm (31 inches) long. It's hard to believe he was a preemie born at 5.5 lbs.
Alex is "normal" especially for being born early at 3.8 lbs. They have him in the 25th to 50th percentile here. He now weighs 9.550 kilos (21.05 lbs) and is 74 cm (29.13 inches).
They went over their diet and their skills and didn't comment that anything was out of the ordinary. So, we will be back in 3 months and see how things are then.
A post almost seems naked without a photo. Here are the boys about 4 days ago enjoying some watered down juice after a tiring play session.
